Course Overview

The BA (Hons) Criminology with Foundation Year at Newman University is designed to provide students with an in-depth understanding of crime and criminal justice, offering a critical perspective on social justice issues. The course explores a variety of crimes and social harms while examining the role of law enforcement, punishment, and prisons. Entry Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • A minimum of 90 credits from a Level 3 qualification such as A Levels or BTECs, or
  • If you are a mature learner (aged 21+), prior relevant work experience and additional qualifications will be considered.

For mature learners, the entry requirements also include:

  • A Personal Statement (500 words)
  • English Language Test with a minimum 60% score (equivalent to IELTS 5.5)
  • Maths Test (Score 50%)
  • Attendance at an Interview
